Polished lip is lots of work - every 100 miles. If you don't keep it clean it gets very hard to get back to looking decent.

Clear coat on lip does not work. Simple reason: a tire has to be put on that is too much to handle for any clear coat.

Chrome takes under one minute to clean with a rag.

I don't know about the bad chrome HRE uses. There is a simple fix to that: Stay away from HRE. iForged seems to have it down cold. Mine a great.

How do I now? I have bought four sets of rims in 2004. Now I run chrome lip with black centers. That is the easiest combination to keep clean.

I'm thinking about getting new rims now, stay tuned for details.

The rims have brake dust on them in the pictures.

Old rims: polished

HRE's chrome is not the best in the world, but its much better than high polish!!
LOOK AT THOSE LIPS SHINNING!! All it too was a quick wash with a sponge and water, no polishing necessary!!
