The turbos seem in perfect shape (not corroded at all), and the leak comes from a spot that seems a bit "damaged". It looks like a dent of equal lenght on the Turbine and core housing, and on the gasket (it seems a gasket to me, but I don't know if it really is) is a bit dented too.. It's very small. It looks like if someome hit that spot with a flat screwdriver..

As for oil, yes, I changed it two months ago, but a shop did the work and when I took the car back it wasn't overfilled.

I will try to take pictures.

Both are made from cast iron and should not dent! Pictures is a great idea.

The mechanic took my car off the lift...so it was difficult for me to take good pics of the exact spot...but I'm going to post them anyway.

The car will be on the lift again this week or the next, and I will take better pics..(I've been stupid enough to forget to take pics while it was on the lift last week )

Real strange, I have expanded you photos to the max and cant see that much of a problem. I have compared them to new turbo pic's as well.
Can you put a line or arrow on your picture showing exactly the point the exhaust is leaking. The Turbine housing and the core are held together by clamping force. They are not bolted directly together, to align a turbine Housing to Core and Compressor the clamp is loosened and the Housing will rotate.

Frank...I took those pics lying down under the car...and couldn't make them any better...I need to wait a couple of days for the car to be lifted again, and then I'll take very accurate pics..

BTW, take a look at the top of the first image, on the right of the wastegate rod, does it seem like a crack on the turbine shell? I didn't notice it...

Anyway, my o-ring is on its way, and I will be able to get more infos soon..

Thanks for your time.

No problems
Just going to bed so will keep it quick, will have a read again tomorrow, but yes I did see what at first looks like a crack. I think is it a shadow caused by the casting mark in the housing?? The more I enhance the photo the more it looks like a shadow. You will have to have a better inspection when you get the car back. Lets hope its just a shaddow.
If you look at jpeg****0055 it look a lot better.
Frank.

Soooo...here are two good pics...my car is on the lift, I'm going to put new gaskets on, re torque all the bolts and see what happens..

The first two pictures and the second ones are the same but the first two are edited and lost a bit of quality..

If you are going to split the turbine housing form the core it is very important to mark the alignment of the two before splitting. Use a centre punch and put 2 marks next to each other. If you dont getting it all to fit later will be a pig. Oh yes when you split the two in half be very very careful. You must pull bask the housing absolutely straight. Do not kink over at all as you will damage the turbine. This could be hard if the two have stuck together with corrosion. You will be tempted to tap them apart. That's when you could do the damage.
For some reason I didn't think there was a gasket in between the two. Oh well we will see shortly. Take dome pictures of the turbo split if you can.
Good luck and take your time.

Frank.

Frank, thank you for taking the time to give useful advices..

I will procede this way: I'll do a proper exhaust leak test (pressurizing the exhaust from the tips as shown in the repair manual), and see if there really is a relevant leak on the turbine. If the leak is very very small, I'll leave it alone and will only fix the header leak. If the turbine leak is relevant, I will ask a quote for a rebuild to a local turbo shop..

If this ends up costing too much.....time for some serious turbos...

I will post about the progress.

Thanks again Frank.
