Is a custom exhaust worth the try?
Is a custom exhaust worth the try?
I have a reputable shop in town, that does a lot of custom exhaust work for older muscle cars and they told me that they would be willing to do a stainless steel custom job for my TT that i could use at the track?? $500!
Anyone have experience with this or a design they have tried, he recommended pulling the stock system off, placing it on a jig, and designing one with custom piping and custom mufflers?
Should i just drop several thou on a well engineered system?

Before you buy any system you should listen to it on a car that you are riding in! Sound is subjective so what someone may call quite is raelly WAY to loud for you. Be very carefull who you buy from as well. Some companies will promise you the world to get the sale and than not back up their promise after they have your money. Just my 2 cents worth.
I believe a custom job would be ok but there are many aftermarket exhausts available with a track record. I went with europipe and am very happy. i would look into what is available currently. the check engine light is an issue with aftermarket exhausts. a one off exhaust for me would be more worry than fun.
