A few questions?

Well some of you know that I am here searching for info on stuff for my dads car.

The one thing I am looking for is a carbon fiber hood. I found a few sites, deftracing.com has one for sale. My question I am asking, is what do I look for with hoods for the 996? I put a hood on my old 3000gt from deft racing and knew it was a good brand. I would assume it would be likewise with the 996? Are tehre any brands you guys recommend.

Also a few weeks ago he had installed from Evolution motorsports the GT700 engine upgrade. With a proper tune what should be expected at the wheels? It is AWD if you were wondering.

If it were me, I would check with a board sponsor first. I know RevoZport has them, but I have no experience with them. I am sure someone here has used them.

No idea about hp with Evoms - my guess is that your vision will get blurry at WOT

How is it "untuned"? Was your ECU not sent in for programming?

I am talking about dyno tuned. Talked to a couple master techs at our shop we get work done and they said it would pick up some power if it was thrown on a dyno and tuned

With carbon hoods first thing is it single layer skin ?
Or dual layer skin?

Is the frame work carbon also or fiber glass?

Does it require hood pins? Some applications are rigid enough to not need them, are they dry carbon hoods or clearcoated ? Dry carbon is more expensive and is a matte finish where as clearcoated is a shiner surface like car paint.

Those are some of the questions I'd ask when looking for a hood

Rotec makes alot of carbon parts for these cars and a few other board sponsors ask around you'll find some good ones.
