Thoughts on RUF exhaust
There is a sound clip in this video below around 1:05
It is not simply a modified stock exhaust. The only thing that is OEM is case (and this modfied as well). It will say that the fit is spot on (because it is an OEM case) and quality is exceptional.
I would never pay full price for one. If you can get a used one for around 3k (or under) it is a great choice. Smithk, if you pass on it, can you PM me the conact info.
It does not have the best hp gain. It will not save you the most weight.
It does have a very distinct sound that is addicting. It is not loud. There is little to no drone. I couldn't be happier with it - but I know there are better options out there.

Have an option for a used RUF exhaust. From past comments sounds like it is a no Drone solution with improved WOT sound.
I did come across an older post where a number of exhausts had been tested for HP/TQ/ sound DB and the RUF in this test actually had reduced HP/TQ in the mid-upper range. Would hate to take a step back. This was several years old and none of the current x-designs were tested.
Anybody have any comments on the performance loss? Thanks.

It sounds good but there are others that sounds as good or even better, costs less, flows better and weights alot less.
I have the 590 exhaust on my GT2 with the high flow cats, sounds so exotic when climbing up the rev range in a gear and intoxicating at WOT... Best exhaust for a turbo IMO, because it does not sound like a normal turbo with exhaust, blatting loud sound, it's mechanically SWEET! There are many different variations, it's not merely just a stock exhaust gutted!

this is a total lie, it sounds more like martin is grunting when he is bench pressing 4000 pounds unassisted.
Great comments. Seems like to sum it up: Most say it doesn't drone and has a nice WOT sound, not much in weight savings and probably minimal power gains, not worth the OEM retail price comopared with others.
Has anyone ever confirmed or denied the old comparison that was done a few years back by ImagineAuto where the RUF actually lost HP/TQ to the stock across a fairly wide RPM range?

I have been pleased with my 9ff Valvetronic exhaust... I hope I will be even more pleased with it once I finally get off my butt and install it! So far, it looks very pretty ... still sitting there wrapped up next to my GT2. This is pathetic.

The one in that dyno test probably had wheelspin hence the power loss.
As I can't yet find a used Europipe Stage 2 Quiet I got my local garage to cut open my OEM unit again from the top, this exhaust already has replacement 100 race cats pressed into the front sections and the rear 400 cats removed. Looking at it very briefly this morning whilst I picked up my 430 Spider having its 16M stripe put on (See Ferrarichat) I decided to remove the pacman cover immediatey after where the 400 cell cat were and then all the steel wool in the middle baffel section, lets see what it sounds like ....
