A rip in the boost hose cant be the issue. I have up to 1.2 bar when off track and .4 bar and not one point over after being on the track for 15 minutes. thx

I have the same setup as Etchhead and have never seen this happen either. My hunch is that you may need to go to a free flowing exhaust for track use. The stock exhaust has too much backpressure (will generate insane heat) for sustained 1 bar use. My friend tried leaving the exhaust stock with k16/gt28 turbos and when I would chase him around it would start to glow faintly and little flames would shoot out after about 15 minutes of hard thrashing lol

Have same problem. Dealer, and many here, say I need intercoolers. My car is a X50. Used 100 octane fuel and problem went away. With 100 octane I get consistent and fast lap times. I am pretty sure that with ICs, will get even faster.

Yes, car runs fine on the street, but after a few laps on the track ecu starts pulling car back. 100 octane really helps. I have GAIC flash.

+1

I did have weird issues when a boost hose was loosened by driving hard... the issue went away as soon as the loose hose was fixed.

Note, I have a Switzer exhaust on my car.....sounds like a GT3 too, as an added bonus.

Good luck.

Qestion for Intercooler... What IC to use if staying under 600 hp. I have looked at Agency for 1500 a pair - If I throw in hoses Agency cost is around 2300.

AWE kit http://www.awe-tuning.com/pages/shar...ain&IL=996ttic
for 3000 includes everything.
If I dont need the kit I can spend the difference on something else. If I throw in hoses Agency cost is around 2200.

unless AWE is the way to go because of quality. Which i know nothing about.
Comments from Folks that know IC quality? thx

if i was going to buy intercoolers, These would be who i would talk to, Switzer, AWE, Markski, Protomotive not in any order all have great products.

im sure EPL could set you up with intercoolers, but with a track car a big core will fight heat soak much better then a thin core will. core design is as important as end tank design, there is a big intercooler thread in the recent pages.

Before I spent any money. After a track session, wet the stock cores down with a hose. See if the issue goes away, if it does you know it's heat soak. Be sure to let it dry enough so that you don't also wet the track down...

If you've done a boost leak check, my money is on intercooler cores or potentially something else being heat soaked to the point of timing being pulled back.

We're going to get Ed in the shop here soon to look the car over, and try and duplicate the issue on our dyno.
