and yes tuner, 7k miles is a lot right now (especially when sub 1000 miles to nearly new ones can be bought near $400k) though it might not be later.
i never really understood why guys bought new GT2s with the beating they took used, but i do now. iow, i knew it was going to be ugly depreciation wise, but wanted it. then again, with my non-refundable $50k deposit, it's not like i would have come out much ahead passing on the car (with the relatively rare color combo i wanted) only to buy it later for say $25k less (@ $375 = slightly less than $448.3 paid less $50k deposit and mine didn't come with 7k miles).

If you enjoy them and never sell them, well ......... there is never a loss.

Ben, as you know ,many spend hundreds of thousands of $$$ in depreciation every couple years on very expensive " exclusive " cars which never pan out after the initial "warm and fuzzies" subside. The Carrera GT is belatedly being acknowledged in the auto world as the truly transcendent streetable car experience of the current era . You may not find something that is this total " package" for a long time . You should hold on to it.
It is to bad they overbuilt the Carrera GT. It seems its following the Gallardo for rapid depreciation. You know that wholesale on Gallardos with low miles is $125-130k!!! How would you like to have been purchasing 6 months ago for $184k!! Allan you don't have a Gallardo do you.......or just the Diablo right now?

And btw, the 2004 cars, when released, were 165k cars. Later they had a price increase. Also, when it comes to being sold new, certain color Gallardos still bring Msrp, such as orange or the new lime green.

Oh well, better just keep that Diablo that may be the last of a rare breed of cars that hold their value. Seems to be holding steady in the $155-160k range for 2001's!! That's not bad at all.
Both Porsche and Lamborghini ought to look at whatever Ferrari does becuase they know how to keep their customers safe. Oh well, I guess the days to build cars for a select few entusiasts is coming to an end
