He's still ALIVE, but probably won't WANT to be if he recovers. This is either a case of pure stupidity (notice the brake lights go on after he's airborne?) or a suicide attempt. If he was attempting to go out with a splash, he's certainly gotten the recognition.
The problem, if it was the latter, is that he didn't wear a seatbelt. In a lot of very-high-speed collisions, it's actually safer to be thrown from the vehicle than to be stuck inside waiting to see what happens next...
