Car hesitates under heavy acceleration
Hey guys I wonder if someone can help me out on this one.
Under heavy acceleration the car hesitates right after the turbos kick in. Its between 3-4k rpms, then it pulls strong again. Its weird- it shudders for a second and then kicks it.
I was driving behind it and my cousin was driving, and when it did that, a puff of smoke blows out.

Its doing it in second and third gear for sure. Havent gotten it fast enough to test it in 4th gear.
No codes thrown. I cleaned the MAF three months ago.
What's worrying me is the puff of smoke. Plus if its coils or spark plugs- wouldnt it misfire constantly or shudder all the way to 6k rpm

Yah i'll change them this weekend I guess....I'm really not looking forward to the labour. Lol.
Do u think a dying spark plug can cause the car to shudder and blow smoke? Could it be anything else? Oil separator?

The guys are right. If you're not throwing any codes a good place to start is with your plugs and coils. I had a few cracked coil packs at only 13,000 miles and was experiencing the same thing you are. I'd change plugs and coil packs and go from there.
when my plugs started going it would become evident under load. as soon as i would hit full boost or close to full boost car would start bucking and misfiring. spark was getting blown out. i also got no codes, if i would power through it sometime the CEL would come on but go away after a couple miles. i am certain that is what you are experiencing as well. while you are at it, clean the maf and repalce air filter.
