Convertible suggestions under $60K.
Convertible suggestions under $60K.
I have the itch for a convertible since I'm driving my TT less than I thought I would. I'm looking for some suggestions on a convertible that is under $60K, quick, good handling for the occasional autocross and HPDE (maybe 1-2/year at most), and relatively exclusive. I'll probably start looking hard come January, but I want to narrow my choices down so I am not all over the map like I am now.
First on my list seems to be the 996TT convertible. It has everything I am looking for but since i currently have a coupe, i'd like to try something different.
M3 convertible - awesome car, but a little too boring and I don't like the looks of the folding hard top
S4 - Love the looks and the softop, but it is too heavy and just too slow
Aston Martin Vantage - would love this option, but is out of the price range for now. Maybe in a year or so? What do you think?
BMW M6 - once again, has everything I want, but the rear end just doesn't do it for me!
SL55 - Might be too much of a luxo cruiser? I've never driven one and they seem to be on every corner (SL's in general)
If anyone has a half price Gallardo, i'd be all over that!!!
Any other suggestions on where to look??
Thanks in advance

You are spot on. The only thing I would consider besides the 996TT for what you are using the vehicle for is the Vantage (when price drops) The M and SL are not going to give you the handling you desire.
