Difference in Alpha 28 Turbos?
That was not my question...I am asking what is the difference between Alpha 28 turbos between the different vendors.
If I order Alpha 28's from EVOMS, Switzer, YOU, AWDMotorsports, Proto...what is the difference? It sounds like there might be a difference, but no one really knows..., which is why I asked Switzer to find out for me from Tial.
(FYI...vendors offer the turbos at different prices, which is why I am trying to figure this out in the first place).

I have never seen a Tial A28 variance... retail on them is about $5400 and it includes all the water lines and oil adaptors... I have seen them sell for about $5200... which is about what we sell them for... if your getting different prices and they are within that range then your fine... I really do not see any benefit of redoing a brand new $5400 set of turbos to something other then what they are... there are simply other options in the Alpha series.. what's the point?
Now if you want me to take your money I sure can... I'll port and polish the housing and take lets say $1500 extra... lol maybe include some gold plated water lines fittings as well...

Prices are set by Tial not us... Tial is very strict about this....

their price was roughly 1kmore then what u stated
Tym Switzer told me they have custom tial turbos made ones you couldn't order from tial unless you knew their exact specs meaning you could get them but youd have to know exactly which wheels they are usging which are not the off the shelf 5400$ turbos

theres also a couple shops taking the tial turbos and modifying them for zc and other tricks that you cant just buy or get info on.
but if your talking about Tial garrets yes I agree... we can spend $10K or more if we want to but my question is: how much is too much and where does the law of diminishing returns come into play...

I will post what I hear back.
From what I've been told in the past is that the Alpha series turbo uses a custom exhaust wheel since it bolts up to the standard KKK Flange. I heard about these turbos way before they came out to the market. You cannot adjust that, but like Mark said I'm sure you could clip or polish a housing, but is it really worth it? On a T3 flanged turbo you can choose your exhaust side which can help make more power here and lose some in other places. The thing with the tuners part is the amount of boost they run on the setups
I almost swaped to the Alpha30's but I just couldn't afford it at the time. If I remember correctly I was going to be the first or one of the first outside test cars for them.
Regardless I think TiAL would know better than anyone as to what is done to them considering they do build them!
