I took shield out from my Cargraphics for a year now. No problem. I did not see any shield on most brands either. Its shield was not like thin and light heat shield. It had some pretty good weight.

if you go for a long distance highspeed trip you should the heatshild remain installed. If it rattles maybe you can work a little on it,
What I have seen after long distance highspeed on motorway the whole muffler is glowing.

Heat Shield

I would suggest addressing the rattle and leaving the heat shield for functionality (heat protection). The Exhaust comes with a lifetime warranty from Cargraphic to the original purchaser, if there is a problem, have the dealer or installer you purchased it from resolve or address the issue.
