Wrong battery ?

Strange one this ?

Did some tinkering with car.
Changed battery
Changed fuel filter
Installed pipercross air filter

Drove the car and it was fine. Gave it full throttle and got the ABS and Psm warning. Looked up the codes and it came back as the P0103 Maf error.
I thought it must of been the air filter as it uses oil even though I only drove 20 miles????
So put the original paper filter back in and a new MAF.
Same again, full throttle , Maf error.
So I dont think I've had 2 bad MAFS in a row? The fuel filter is fitted fine and there are no air leaks. The car drives fine, boosts fully.

One theory I have is that I've installed the wrong battery. Its a Bosch S5010 85ah battery. I've read that a failing alternator can give you Maf codes. So thought the voltage or amps may affect the MAF ??

Or the reason my old battery went is because of the alternator ????

My car is a 2001 with 46k on the clock

Any help appreciated

Andy
