So many people refer to turbo as "carrera turbo" Isnt that a misnomer? I thought carreras were carreras and turbos were turbos and that the only common heritage was 911.

it started off as the turbocarrera in '76, but was promptly changed to just turbo once all the homologation cars were built.



In the '70s and '80s I suspect consumers mostly regarded the Turbo as just a "package" on the standard 911 Carrera, but these days it's definately misleading, should just be 911 Turbo IMHO.
