What should I get in the 1/4 mile with a epl flash?
Currently I am at stock levels and actually tested some of this stuff on the street after reading this post..lol.
(My clutch is due for replacement anyway) Launch:
2k RPM gradual lift of clutch caused slight hesitation
3k RPM gradual lift of clutch no hesitation, but I could feel my clutch slipping until I shifted to 2nd and I hear a squeal from my clutch? The one time it hooked up PCM light flashed until I hit 2nd gear.
Lets say I get a GT2 or clutchmasters stg3 clutch. Does this mean I can just dump the clutch @ 3k RPM? Or will I need other modifications to prevent transmission damage? As far as power mods go I am only planning flash and exhaust.
Sorry I came from an E55 where all I did was press on the gas pedal and not worry about stuff breaking..

Yes! Without a stronger clutch you have significant risk of transmission damage. You are good to slide off the clutch.
That being said, at stock levels you're not really putting much load on the transmission as such, more on the clutch itself which can easily be replaced.
For any high hp drag application in any situation street and strip you will need to re-enforce your components.
A lightweight clutch with high clamping force would be ideal, as would a lighter flywheel; but again I must re-iterate that these aren't necessary for Stage I/II cars. Cost prohibitive at such early stages of modification.

If you would get a Stage 3 clutch you would get significantly more clamping force, approximately 3800lbs. You would be able to get much more aggressive launches with relative ease of mind.
That being said however, you must always remain responsible. You will know how the clutch feels. Do not dwell too much on RPMs, but more on comfort of launch. The video I posted was launched at such high rpm as to generate 0.2 bar of boost to avoid the "bog" you feel when launching the car from 0.0bar
Do the launch when you really need to. Nobody would recommend back to back launches like the one you see in that video, too many variables too many things that get worn even if no damage takes place. Have fun with your car. An upgraded clutch is definitely something that's worth investing in whether you're at 500 crank hp or 700whp.

Pretty much NEVER "dump" your clutch. You can aggressively slide it out, but DUMP it...no. If your tires don't spin, something has to give, whether it's your clutch slipping or your axles breaking or...
Looking forward to it! Be safe
