Oil consumption ?

I was wondering what other posters are experiencing in terms of oil consumption.
I currently have 1800 miles on a brand new TT and to date have added about 1 quart of oil.
I was told to expect 1 quart per thousand miles, so on this basis I'm well within spec :-)
I will be keeping a close check on my oil level though as over the weekend I noticed a couple of suspicious oil drops under the engine on the garage floor - at first I thought it was cosmoline, but it was definately oil and I'm pretty sure I didn't spill any when I was topping up...

I'm 2100 miles in (on a new car) and have added 1 quart. I also had the "few drops" experience but, only 1 time.

I think even for a daily driver smoking is normal on startup (especially on colder days...)

my service guy told me that oil consumption even at 15k miles is fine. He said some will need a quart every 1000 miles, and some may not, but that it is normal for it to vary from car to car.

He said as long as it doesn't get worse as time goes on you should be fine. I just did the 15k service.

My TT cab arrives december -- I was planning to basically not drive it very much until the spring. Does anyone have any tips on breaking in a new car in Dec? Is it bad to put in storage for a long time when new? thx
