Hey EVOMS! Where's my car?
Hey EVOMS! Where's my car?
I hate bringing these issues to the forum but I'm at wits end. Last October my GT2 participated in the Texas Mile. I couldn't make it so Todd, with my approval, drove the car. It went into a spin but, thankfully, no one was hurt. Todd informed me that the car was fine and one of the Motons failed causing the spin. He brought the car back to Phoenix and was going to replace the Motons.
I live in Denver and winter was coming so I told him I was in no hurry. In March I tried contacting EVOMS to set up a ship date. As many of you know getting a hold of EVOMS takes a small miracle. After hounding them for several weeks I finally got a response via email. They told me that the engine was blown and that was the cause of the spin. WTF, you waited 6 months to inform me of this small detail? Needless to say, I was pissed. I wasn't pissed about the engine as these things happen in heavily modified vehicles. I was pissed that Todd didn't have the decency to inform me of this little detail.
EVOMS discounted the rebuild and I gave them the ok to begin. The car was going to be done in June. I called in June asking how things were progressing. After several unanswered calls and emails I finally got a response. The car was delayed and wouldn't be done until July. I wasn't happy but had to deal with it. After many attempts to contact them in July I was informed that it would be August. Now I'm getting really upset. Another summer, third in a row, without the GT2. What am going to do? They've got me by the *****! I start inquiring in August and they push it back to September. At this point I'm numb to it and not surpried. Early September I finally get a response from them and am told it's done. Finally! And there's actually some time to drive it before it snows!
Well, that was a month ago and I still don't have it. I've been given every excuse in the book. "The transporter went out of business". "The transporter didn't show up". "There's a big car event in Phoenix this week and everyone is booked". You name the excuse and they're using it.
Today I find out that Todd is holding a TUNING EVENT IN DENVER!!! You have to be kidding me! He hasn't returned my calls in 9 months and he's here! Without my car!!!
Let me give you a little history:
I sent my Cayenne to him about 4 years ago. He built the first GT700 using my truck. Four months turned into almost a year but I wrote it off to being the first. I've modified many cars and the first build of any type always hits a few snags. There communication was terrible but they had a good reputation so I dealt with it. When I got the Cayenne back it was awesome and still runs perfectly to this day.
Ivwas impressed enough with the performance, not the service, that I sent them my GT2 for a GT700 upgrade. Once again it took many more months than I was told and communication was lousy. When I got the car back to Denver it had a few altitude related issues that were eventually sorted out. I sent it back to EVOMS in the fall to have a few upgrades done that EVOMS thought would help at altitude. Since it was winter in Denver I decided, what the hell, let's go to the next level of build. Todd told me about the new 3.8 upgrade. I gave him the green light and was told the car would be done in spring.
Spring comes along and I can't get any any answers or response. I finally find out through one of their techs that the 3.8 build has been problematic. They're having all kinds of problems and decided to stick with a built 3.6. Of course no one notified me of this decision! If I hadn't badgered them for truth I might never have known! After much disappointment I tell them to proceed with the 3.6. They tell me that the car will be back in Denver for the summer making 800+ HP.
Long story short but the car arrives in the fall, not early summer as promised. I rent the track and Todd tunes it for altitude. The car runs great and we have a great time. All is forgiven. Todd tells me about the Texas Mile and, since summer is over once again, I send the car back to EVOMS for a GT1000 build. This is the second summer in a row that has passed without my GT2.
There's a real risk in venting on a forum but at this point I don't know what to do. I can't get a straight answer. Don't know of my car is actually done or not. By going public my relationship with EVOMS is obviously over. Will they support/maintain my car if I have any future issues? I don't know. What I do know is that I've spent about $150k with them so far. If $150k dint even get you responses to voicemail or email, I can't imagine the service provided to others who don't spend as much with EVOMS.
Well I have three kids and two soccer tournaments today. Between visits I'm going to try to head over to Todd's big CO tuning event. Big question for you Todd. Where the f*** is my car?!
Sorry for the long message and any typos. I'm on my iPhone.

on your i phone eh? soccer game must be pretty boring i assume lol.
all joking aside, i commend you for your patience and thats a virtue im trying oh so hard to obtain... i would be livid in your situation !!!!i would be on a plane down there and ill leave it at that.
I find this ( if exactly as said, but i know there is always two sides to story ) very unaccptable !! i mean you have gave them 150 k of your hard earned money ,they shouldnt be treating you this way , not evoms but any tuner !!!!!!
the fact that they waited for ever and day to tell you that the motor was blown and not a moton ? i mean how dont know when the motor is blown? how do you mistake that for a blown shock? you take all that time to tell someone ? they blew your motor , they tuned it , they ran it, they should be picking up the whole damn bill !!
anyway , i hope you get your car back if it is actually done , and i hope this thread is not locked as ussual.... till you get your situation straightened out.

You're not the first, and surely won't be the last.
I have heard many times this is the case with Evoms. To my surprise, there was a thread earlier this year praising them and a few members decided the let the cat out of the bag so to speak and were basically told to hush or be banned...I guess people really are not allowed to speak freely on an open/public forum.

I re-read what you wrote, they blew the motor so they gave you a "discount" to rebuild, LOL, now that is a huge set of *****

you have had your say...it doesn't sound good for Evoms and I'm getting some pm's from other members who wish to remain anonymous so this may not be an isolated instance.....there are always two sides and if Todd wants to respond I will reopen the thread so he can...per 6 speed policy this thread is closed but will remain up for all to see..
ps...for those of you who think we close these types of threads because we don't care about members you should know that I am working with this member privately to see if there is anything we can do to help
