CTS-V anyone?
I think they look pretty good and I have been toying with the same idea, they look as if they have some easy mod's as far as bumping the power up and there appears to be some aftermarket springs to lower it a bit, as it sits currently is a bit too high for my tastes. If you get one let us know what you think.
Watch out for the lowering springs on the CTS-V. The adjustable suspension does not like them at all. It is best to machine the lower control arm to drop the mounting point if you want your V lower. Just FYI
Great cars. Very luxurious and compliant ride. Muscle-car power on tap at all times. Do a few basic mods like intake, pulley, exhaust, and tune and you have a low 11 second luxury sedan that drives like stock. The supercharger whine is fun too.
You should get this Buddy!!

The few I have dealt with have been ****ty. 3 cars under 40K miles with clunky u-joints, hood rust, (bubbling) and the problematic GM trim panel quality issues. Regardless if they sound ok and are can be decently quick they still are not up-to-par with quality/reliability.

note i do hear the 2nd gen cars from 09 on have addressed many of these issues.
I have to say the 09 cars are completely in a different league in my book. Interior, exterior and mechanically. That said they aren't quite Mercedes quality or feel, but I personally don't think near as bad as the previous 2 posters are making them sound. Granted I don't have near as much experience with the pre 09's.
The V2 is a woke different car. The rear ends are an Eaton pumpkin with Eaton LSD. My car on stock tires square and goes. I cut consistent 1.7 60' on street tires. I literally drive onto the track and run 11s with out changing a thing. The ride is very nice and can be firm at the push of a button. I driven 997 and prefer the V2 for a daily any day. Oh I also did 1.07g on the twisties.

Not a used one..........
I love the CTS-V, but I'm not a Supercharger guy. I'd take the revs of an M5 all day even though I like almost everything else more on the V including a real manual that wasn't and afterthought.
It's a tough choice and one I've considered, I'm also thinking about a Camaro and a white C5Z (one of the sexiest cars ever IMO) for weekend toy.
I just don't want to get back to racing around on the streets. And if my DD is fast, that's what I'll do, so I think I'm going to end up with truck and nice enclosed trailer for track days and stay slow pokin it on the street.
