Tuner Wars
With all of this Champion vs. TPC in the 997 section recently, and then the Switzer vs. Evoms video over the weekend. I was thinking last night, how awesome would it be if we could really get some of these guys together to do runs? Same location, quarter mile, 60-130, top speed runs, etc. Who wouldn't want to see a Proto K24/18G car vs. an EPL A/GT28 car go at it? Or Switzer vs. Evoms go at it? The tuners I would most like to see get at it, would be an off the shelf, bolt on 650ish hp Switzer car, vs. an the same offering from Evoms. The other would definitely be the ultimate showdown on the old K24/18G debate... Maybe 911 Tuning hardware tuned by Proto vs. an EPL Alpha GT28 car.

distance is an issue.... and lots of resources spent to make it happen...
Honestly, I can have a 18g car run 10.0s with my partner driving... but that doesnt mean the 18g car is faster... likewise the other way...
Often cars loosing to another car is a issue with the install, boost leak, average tune or less boost.... driver, tires, weight etc .... I get more calls from guys from the middle east, asking for help because the kits they purchased are not running well, then sales calls... and this is only about installing a EBC...lol
I still think 1/4 mile or 60 to 130 is a good independent measurement... and you do not need to get everyone in one place...

This could get ugly or great. The Excellence magazine shootout back in 2004 turned out to be tons of fun and very informative. Every car had something to write home about. I was there with By Design at the time and when we needed something Todd Z helped us out and vise versa. Same with most of the other guys. A bunch of us went to dinner afterwards too. Some of the guys here will remember.
Hope things haven't changed too much?

I believe the real question to be answered is which tuner gets the most performance with the least amount of mods. This type of comparison has a lot more useful information and is cost and element driven (exhaust, flash, clutch).

Remember I tried to set this up 6 months ago. All you get is a lot of HP driven mods and no real comparison.
