Ecu Upgrade Chicken

I have a bone stock 01 996tt still under pre-owned warranty), Do any of you cars lose low end performance with your upgrades. The tuners show graphs where the upgraded curves always are above stock. What are your driving impressions about this? Do you give up low end pull for peak hp. and torque. thanks in advance

absolutely not. I can only speak about the GIAC stage II, but the car just rips right out of your hands from any speed. It really feels like a different motor. With the flashing of the ECU now, some tuners will let you sample it....before you buy.

What other mods do you have that made you pick stage 2 over stage 1?

Lets just say , I have a friend in a far away state, he wants an ECU upgrade. He is afraid of warranty issues so his dealer says he would flash it and protect his warranty. My friend would do it in a minute, except the dealer in this very far away place wants over 4 grand for a stage 1, any opinions for my friend in a far away place

Nothing, in fact I can load the stock software and the pefromance software. You can try it for free and if you don't like it then send the ECU back and I will return it to stock. All for nothing. The flashloaded software and switcher is truly a work of art. Drop me a call if you have any questions.

I've had the upgrade for coming up on 1 year (GIAC Stage 2), no issues w/CELs or anything else ... feels like a completely different car than stock, much quicker with instant boost. Best upgrade for the $$s.

I was in the same boat. I didn't want to flash my '02 but just did this week. Stephen at IA did it for me. I only have stage 1 but already want stage 10!!!! IA did a great job...as usual. If there is a downside it's the addiction. Thanks Stephen, we'll be talking again soon.

Just DO IT! , it's a huge performance upgrade for little $. Upsolute is only $500, and I get 1.0 to 1.1 bar boost all the time. Feels great!

Unless you switch to larger turbos, there should be no loss of low end power.

for the stage II, I have a fabspeed loud. I don't think you have to, but a less restrictive exhaust is reccomended. By the way, I had mine done by Stephen at Imagine Auto, and I had my ECU back in less than 24hrs.

Go for it!
