That looks great! Where did you find the reverse signal wire for input to your head unit for the reverse camera?

You kept the factory speakers? Do you know how they crossed over the signals? I believe the factory crossovers are internal to the factory amplifier. Did they use an external crossover of some sort, or does the 911 have external crossovers already? (This would be the first car I'd ever heard of with such a setup, if so.)

Amp is the Alpine PDX-5 (5 channel amp)...cross over built into the amp I believe.

I'll have to check out that amp. To be honest, I've done very little research into the 911's audio setup. In all of the other cars I've owned, each speaker ran on a different channel. For example, if a door had a mid and a tweeter in it, you needed to send two channels to that door. Multiply that by 4, and you'd need 8 channels crossed over. If a car had a woofer, mid, and tweeter, you'd make that 12. The factory head unit normally contains all of these electronic crossovers internally.

Aftermarket speakers come with external crossovers that split the tweeters/mids/woofers, which is why you can drive four corners with four channels. Without crossing over the signal, you will damage all of the components over time. (starting with the woofers)

Rad

I have been looking to update with BT and iPod, and this is one of the units I was looking at. How much was it to install everything. How much more was the rear camera and amp? Is it enough power to overcome a loud exhaust?

Dave
