y pipe removal
Should be pretty easy once you get the Y pipe out. I haven't personally looked, but should only be a few bolts and wires I would think.
I just looked at the parts diagram and seems it is pretty straight forward.
I saw your other thread, why are they thinking it is the tb? Symptoms seem to point elsewhere I would think...

They said they pressure tested it all the way from the turbos ... and they didnt find anything else ... I have a feeling they just wanna sell hardware ...
AND .. it USED to throw codes once in a whiiillleee ....
I got the car last night ... and it has thrown codes at least 5 times ... I really hope they didnt sabotage anything ...
I'll go for a second opinion elsewhere ...
What would you suggest though?

What are the codes it used to throw?
What are the codes it is throwing now?
Find a buddy and take a few hours and swap tb's and see if it goes away before you spend the $$$. Then paint both Y pipes while they are out! Win win!

Ari,
The throttle body is a fairly easy DIY project. Once the Y-Pipe is out, it's only another few minutes.

Durametric just said ... Hot Film MAF ...
AND .... it says error data from DME or something rather ... what gives ...

I would probably start with the MAF then if you are getting MAF errors. Don't know how the TB would be the problem unless it is closing too much or has a leak, but I would probably start with the MAF since it is a common issue.
Probably the first step - if that doesn't fix it probably will be easy to sell it here or on ebay!
Bumping on old thread. Wondering how you guys get this N75 vac hose off?! Dear lord, what a PITA!! I'm at a point where I just feel like re-installing the damn Y-pipe!! This thing seems impossible to get off.
Good luck! Zip tie any lines you can when you re-install!
It is a pain - they have it clamped on there pretty good. Just get a good pair of curved needle nose pliers and keep wiggling/working it off. You could always cut it and replace it. Probably could use replacing on our aging cars anyway!

A major brand ceramic paint will do the trick...
I painted mine and other engine parts with that type of paint and it will look like new for a very long time,,
And adheres like glue IF you prep the part with brake clean or acetone,,then use fine emery cloth to scuff up the surface..

If you decide to do the intake plenum, make sure you lower the engine.
Hard to think I did the whole IPD plenum install without lowering it. At the time, I didn't know lowering it was as easy as 2 bolts.
