Wevo Engine Mounts and 997 Tranny Mount

I just had this installed.

I would say that it's a worthwhile upgrade for sure. The parts are relatively cheap and so is installation time. The car feels "more like one" like others have mentioned.

IMO The car also exhibits reduced wheel hop on hard launch as well. Just feels like the suspension/chassis is generally stiffer and one-piece. There is very little downside IMO to this modification. You feel the road a bit more, but it's not noisier or more uncomfortable. Just feels more connected.

Can't wait to hit the twisties on the way home. BTW in installing the 997 tranny mount, Speed Gallery discovered that my stock tranny mount was broken on one side to begin with!

Robin@EPL is infamous around these parts
Yup, the mounts are a great upgrade, especially on cars making more than stock power. Helps with wheel hop a great deal, which is what breaks driveline parts.

I got the tranny mount from Suncoast. Get the mounts from Wevo and get the one that really fit the 996/997, so you do not have to cut the bottoms.
I believe they are called "997 Semi-Solid Engine Mounts".

Good Luck,

Did any of you consider the OEM RS engine mounts? Why did you choose the Wevo mounts?

and don't forget just how pretty the wevo mounts are . . .I did this project last summer. Took me about 2 hours including jacking the car up to change the 997 tranny mount and the wevo engine mounts. super easy DIY

I put on new 315 PS2's this year and they just break free and spin. I have never really had a problem with hop, my car just spins gears 1-3. If I ever go to DR's it may be a problem.

I just drove my car 50 miles home with the Wevo engine mounts that were just installed. I could not feel any vibrational difference from before. The true test for these will be at the track next spring.
