GT3 Brakes
Are the 997 GT3 calipers same as the 997TT? I have a factory upgrade think to the 997TT caliper setup all around, the braking performance seems to be steller, was asking because the calipers appear to look the same...

Pretty much yes. When we sell customers the 996 GT3 we use the 997TT pad shape as the annulus of the rotor for the turbo is different slightly then a GT3.
For those that dont want to spend the bucks for the upgrade but want to run the 350mm rotor, check out this - http://www.vividracing.com/blog/anno...porsche-996tt/

If it's a race car or track only vehicle then stoptechs or brembo GT setups are applicable, with good ducting for enduro events of 2.5hr or longer races is where a bigger brake application can benefit, with endurance type pad materials. Other than that like many have said here, you will be more than fine with the stock brakes on these cars with a good set of pads, a nice fluid (I prefer Castrol SRF), and some steel braided lines for a street car or a DE car...this is what I advise most of my students, and with the money saved you can sign up for more track events!
All the mods in the world will not make up for actual track time and getting more expereince under your belt.

I have these brakes (if they are the BIG 350mm front and rear with 6/4 piston caliper)s. Near race car level binders with STOCK drivebility. I'm not the best driver but they didn't fade on the streets of willow, a very tight circuit, in a fast spooling 600+ HP car that darts out of the turns you're hard on teh brakes coming down from 100 over and over. That's in car that weights 100s of lbs. more.
It's baffling how over-engineered and solid the top end Porsche cars are. Pure overkill in every respect.

Will the rear caliper/rotor from a 997 TT (or GT3) bolt directly to the 996tt?

Not sure but I have some 997tt rear calipers and rotors that I know will fit that I can sell you. They have very few miles. PM me if you are interested in them. I have the calipers, bolts rotors and pads. I think the 997tt rears are the same as the GT3 and have the solid top brace design.
Are you selling both front and rear? My guess would be somewhere @ 50% of new cost for the same. What type of driving did you do? track % to street? I'm in the market for 997TT upgrade or the 997GT3 anybody here run PF"s?
