Merry Christmas everyone!!

I'm considering getting my taillights blacked out ... painting it perhaps.

Does anybody have any other suggestions?

If anybody could post pictures of their blacked out tail lights .. Guards Red ... or any other color for that matter ... would be appreciated ...

I tinted mine - at first, I tinted the whole thing and found it pretty dark while reversing. I eventually removed the tint on the reverse lights. Sorry about the picture - it's with a flash so the red is much more visible than it is in real life...

They aren't as dark as the camera makes them out to be...

raineycd: What did you use to make your tail lights dark?

 

I got some R/C (remote control) car paint from my local hobby shop - it was called window tint so it is transparent. They also had red transparent for taillights on the R/C cars. It is good stuff and made for plastic.

Did you do yours w/them off the car? They came out great, i'm going to hit the local hobby store once I get my car inspected and tagged and then go at it.

 

Yep, pop them off the car, clean them, tape them off then spray. Can get as dark or light as you want - darker = more coats.

Lights are very easy to get out - two screws each then wiggle them out!

 

I think Mandeep (uurfantasy) has the best setup, I like the clear look over the entire assembly, Chad's are nice also with the model paint, came out real clean looking. I think balckened taillights look great on any colors except for slate and seal gray, in which case the lights almost match the paint color from the factory and I think that looks pretty cool.

 

I used the smoked tint overlay.
