I need some more traction. Wider rubber and a better tire should do the trick. Who makes 12" wide wheels that will clear everything on a Gt2?
Its not so much how wide the rim is but having the correct offset. I would also suggest a 18 inch rim if your worried about performance. The bigger sidewall will give some slack for flex in the tire on hard launches. The BFG K/D is by far the best street tire I have ever used, it sticks very well. Make sure your front wheels arnt to wide either. It gets annoying after awile, your front wheels will get stuck in the grooves of the lanes on the highway. Its like driving a train on rails, it will just push your around on the tracks. Check your pm I will find out the widest rim and offset possible for the GT2.

Wow, I didn't realize that it came with 12" wide wheels. That's great!! I wanted to upgrade to a 335/30/18 or a 345/30/18 size tire that is more sticky to give me a larger footprint with better traction.
Has anyone done this?
I know Michelin makes a Pilot Sport Cup in 345.30.18, but I can't seem to find a 335.30.18.
That tire would likely make this car a launching machine because when I had them on my 750hp Viper with 800tq, the tires wouldn't spin in 2nd gear.

I'd try 335/30-18 on the stock rims. If it rubs on the inside you might have to use a spacer and longer wheel bolts. You might ask CJV if that would fit. It looks like it would on my Turbo, but I'm at stock ride height. I believe that Kumho makes a sticky 335/30-18 tire that is relatively inexpensive. It looks to me like body work will be necessary to fit a 345 rear tire.
