Remote Key Not Working

My key fob stopped working so I assumed that the battery needed to be replaced. I replaced the battery and the remote door locking function still doesn't work. I can open the door manually and start the engine but the keyless lock/unlock function and hood unlock function don't work anymore. The LED on the key fob flashes as usual but the car does not respond. I have another key fob that works perfectly so I know that there's nothing wrong with the car (i.e. blown fuse, sleep mode, faulty receiver, bad antenna, etc.) Is it normal for these key fobs to go bad? Is there any way that I can revive my key fob?

Was the car sitting for five days or more? The car's receiver shuts down to conserve the battery. Stick the key in the door, manually unlock it, and press the remote button. It should work after that.

If one key works, and another doesn't- you should replace the fob.

I had the same problem. I cycled the door locks with the button on the center horse shoe and the remote has worked fine since.

Can you elaborate on how exactly you did that?

Sorry if that's a dumb question...

On the horseshoe surrounding the radio and A/C there are several switches, one to raise the spoiler, turn on and off the psm, and one to LOCK AND UNLOCK the doors. I locked and unlocked several times via this switch. I pressed the button on the remote and I heard the doors lock. Pressed again and they unlocked. Everything has worked fine since.

Please let me know if it works for you

Same problem happened to me. Had to replace the fob. Porsche said they just die sometimes without warning, my new one works fine.

I had the problem last year and found a bad connection in the fob. LED flash, no functions. Fixed the connection and no problems since. (911 design/CGT style fob)
