Xtreem (the pink cotton ball looking stuff in the short black plastic jar) works REALLY well.

Any more info on this? Where can I get it? How abrasive is it? Although, if you are recommending it, I am sure that it is fine.

I just got my car back for the body shop (1 1/2 months) and it was not detailed until I picked it up. Over the weekend I cleaned the hell out of the machine and noticed water spots on the polished lips. (545R, silver painted center with polished lips)

I called HRE this afternoon and they recommended Meguiars NXT All Metal Polish. They said the Mothers was just ok compared to the NXT

Has anyone used that product.

Check out this site for info. on tire care:

I talked with folks at HRE and they recommend Simichrome (this stuff actually takes out minor scratches from the idiots that tried to put air in the tires when I first had them installed).

Most of them recommend Poorboys, but also a lot use the NXT product. These are waxes so you need to clean the rims first, then apply several coats.

Meguiars NXT All Metal Polish is much better than Mothers. Key is to never let water and brake dust dry on ur wheels. Wash when you get home or the day after. The longer you let it sit the more it bakes on.

Two weeks after I mounted my HRE 543's, the lips clouded. No answers here...only guesses. Maybe the heat combined with soap, or a tire shine product on a hot wheel. In any event, I could not buff the ugliness out. I would get on HRE for answers as I have not had this problem with other wheels.

I've noticed that on some wheels if you use anything other than normal car soap...for example, spray on cleaners, that it tarnishes polished lips and the only way to get it out is to use a polish such as NXT or Mothers. PITA

I have had VERY good luck with the Flizt line of polishes on my HREs. It brought back a mirror shine.

I had the same problems with my HREs. The lips seemed always to be nasty and nothing I did made them right. I just had them sent back to refinish the centers and am having the lips Chromed.
