Forget all that crap!!! Mothers, Meguiars, etc... it's all junk and requires a lot of work!!!

When I was at the european car show last year with the "6 pack" and some other 6speeders. I wasnt able to clean my car, so we broke out the dry clean car wash and started cleaning the car (it actually came out ok)...

To make a long story somewhat short...my wheels were heavily oxidized from the winter (much worse than the pictures in this post...just imagine driving with non-clearcoated polished wheels in the NY winter....) and we were using mother's billet polish and sweating our asses off trying to get that crap off... and still no results. A couple of guys said the only way i was going to get rid of the oxidation was with a dremel and buffing wheel.

Just before I gave up, these 2 guys came over and asked me to try this new wheel cleaning formula.... it was a purple liquid and when mixed (shaken) it turned a to a light green color. I put a little dab on a microfiber towel and with a few rubs...the oxidation was completely gone and the wheel looked "BRAND NEW". I couldnt believe what I was seeing!!!!!! We practically bought up the entire supply and to this day I will use nothing but that formula.

Do a search for "Polished Lips" and you'll see the results. Rockitman took the pic and posted it on the last few pages of the European car meet thread that porsche babe or KPV started.

Unfortunately...im at work and dont remember the formula...but I will post the name and website when i get home.

Once you try this stuff...you will never go back to mother's billet polish!!!

I did something to a set of 3.6 Trubo speedlines once that made them cloud up real bad like that. I that I had ruined them. I actually had to use mothers polisher and scrub it real hard to get it off and really could not get it all off around the little bolts head things. Cannot remember what I did, but it was some type of cleaner or finisher that should not be used on polished wheels. Worked great on my 996TT wheels but killed my polished speedline 3.6s.

I have tried to find the Meguires NXT All Metal Polish everywhere in South Florida. PepBoys, Discount Auto, Target, Walmart (Meguires.com told me to look there) and Drivers Seat (Boca).

Anyone know where can I find NXT???

if you can't find it in any stores, the web would be your best bet

I bought my last can of NXT metal polish at target

If you call meguiars and tell them you can't find it anywhere, they may wave shipping.

I just got my car back for the body shop (1 1/2 months) and it was not detailed until I picked it up. Over the weekend I cleaned the hell out of the machine and noticed water spots on the polished lips. (545R, silver painted center with polished lips)

I called HRE this afternoon and they recommended Meguiars NXT All Metal Polish. They said the Mothers was just ok compared to the NXT

Has anyone used that product.
NXT has an anti-corrosion agent in it that will protect longer then the other polishes

I have had VERY good luck with the Flizt line of polishes on my HREs. It brought back a mirror shine.

I've heard about Wenol, but have never used it. Thanks for the reminder. I might have to pick some up along with the Meguiars NXT.
