Upper Dash Cluster Cover Mod...Carbon/Alcantara...?

I know a few have done this, but anyone post if they have modded the upper "hump" dash cluster cover right above the gauges?

I love how some of the newer cars have this done up in different material, and I think can would do a good update in our interior, just trying to get ideas.

Also any install notes/tips/DIY would be great on this part.

Leaning towards this piece from Rotec..

I think putting something glossy (CF) on there is going to be a bit of a distraction... I tried that in one of my other cars and eventually took it off. Glare from the sun hits it - reflects off the front window and into your eyes. The same can happen with street lights at night. I'm game for a different material though - as you suggested - something like Alcantara could be cool.

+1 for above. Anyone have a DIY for the actual gauge cluster bezel removal? I have had this CF piece for two years and have not found a how-to anywhere.

maybe I can help you with this link

Alcantara

look at the lowest Thread, for me it's too much Alcantara but I think only the upper dash console part or complete dash would be looking very cool.

Good points, I've seen it done on a few Fcars and looks great wonder if they have an issue...would of never thought of the glare...
