Tiptronic TCU question

Hi,

So brought a spare 996tt transmission from the US. Installed this in the car, and it gives a coding issue in the TCU. Select the country code (well it is just ROW, or Taiwan or Korea) but then says that the EEPROM is corrupt.

Cannot see how changing the gearbox could correct the TCU.

TCU was working fine before.

Looks like I looking at a new TCU, but what I wanted to know
- is the TCU in the 996 the same as 996 tt - the only difference i see is the last two digits are 07 and 04 respectively.
- is there any reason for a difference in the electrics for a gearbox on a US car compared to a UK car - the gearbox is the same Porsche part number.

Any way you can get the matching TCU where the trans came from?
