That's not a bad idea! Keep the seats but have the shoulder and sub slots cut into them.

I was referring to the seat bottom/sub belt fix only. I don't think the seat back has enough width or structural integrity in that upper area to handle slots for the shoulder belts. I think you can solve the shoulder belt issue with a sternum strap, avail at most good race shops, or call the place that supplied your harnesses. Have fun!

Yeah that makes sense, I had forgotten you can put the strap on to tie the harnesses together.
