Suspension upgrade

Im considering upgrading the suspension on my 04 TT to either the Ruf system or the X73. My question is do I really need it? I dont track the car, basically use it for enjoyment and seasonal use. Those of you who have upgraded was it really worth it or would I be better off keeping it stock because I dont track the car.

mklock: I have the Ruf PSS9-based system on my car. I don't track my car either. I have Ruf suspensions on both my 91 turbo and my 2002 car. I find they really add to my enjoyment of the cars. They handle flatter, firmer but yet more compliant. To me, the systems really do improve the cars. After all, these cars are toys. We don't need them for transportation; there are other cars that can perform that role with both greater utility and more economically. As such, they should be as pleasing to us as possible. That's why I did the suspension system (along with other mods). Better play time.

If nothing else get some H&R springs to lower it so it doesn't look like a 4x4!

You don't really NEED it at all. But it will improve the looks at the very least.

As to how much you'll notice the difference driving I think that depends upon your driving style IMHO. But you should find the car better planted and more responsive.

after all my research

Techart springs (eibach) on my standard shocks achieved all my needs but it cost twice as much to install them as to buy them !!

It's probably the same labor charge to mount either springs or a complete coil-over system.
