I'm on year 11 almost when it comes to street racing and forums and trust me I feel the same as you when it comes to cheerleaders. Hell I'm usually the guy who is the first one to call someone out on something. I rarely do it here because well I dunno this forum is very political so just not worth it. Plus on all the other big forums I am on I know the admins so it helps me get away with things from time to time.

Hell Peter Blach and I were not able to even be in the same sections on forums 3 or 4 years ago. Same goes with Jamie. Now I can actually say they are friends of mine because aside from forum bs they are cool as hell.

Neil is a cool kid and he does what he can to help Tym out with advertisement and stuff. But you and I both know there are other places on here that make outrageous claims that can't be backed up either. I've just learned to let it roll off...

Back to running an EVOMS vs Switzer 996/977. I can't speak for who will be driving and unless you come to Cleveland when we can make this happen....but I'm sure they would welcome the chance to run you.

 

Why not just bring one car from each shop & run the mile....al this is BS. I have a few pennies laying around. at the end of the day we will know whos faster

 

This is the only community where users think the Mile is the end all show of performance. I guess I should tell the big drag racers that they are stupid and don't know how to show a cars performance. I mean why spend $90k+ on JUST a motor if it can't even run the standing mile... Those guys must be TOTAL idiots...

I say meet at a drag strip in the middle because regardless of when and where excuses are going to FLY out of everyone when something doesn't work right. Whether it be in the mile, 1/4 mile or 60-130... It's the truth and anyone who's been around car forums long enough knows that as well.

This sh+t is so ghey.Run the mile and post the data.you can extrapolate any data needed to make any comparison.( much more data)We all know the porschea arent great drag cars.Evoms show up and run the mile......Switzer show up and run the mile..both post the data.......the rest of the street racing bs is so ghey.

+1, (my little two cents) it is fair to run the mile, got the date, got the mutual venue, just need to bring your car.

 

Again there will be excuses either way... It's something that happens everytime with any car... I remember a big thread from EVOMS about going for 250+, event happens and it doesn't happen... Traction Control issue.... I remember another thread from Switzer about blowing the Porsche numbers out of the water at the Mile... Event happens... Traction control issue (IIRC)...

People forget these things...

And if the Porsche isn't meant for drag racing then why do Mile racing? The Mile is drag racing but 3x longer then the standard 1/4... It's a car that came from the factory to miss the 200mph on the factory rev limiter, tires, etc...

In the end this is really just become a d*** swinging contest... Our cars are not top dogs on any straight line event... Regardless of what way you want to look at it we are ALL getting our @$$es kicked by the Lambos and the GT-Rs I can almost bet are going to take the last thing the Porsche has on them which is a Mile #. Everywhere else we are getting owned... Remember there will ALWAYS be someone faster...

 

I think the mile is actually 4X longer.
