Changing Shifter cover and Ebrake..DIY?

Does anyone have instructions on how to change the shifter and ebrake?

I just purchased the alum look shifter and ebrake to replace my current setup.

Is this a relatively simple task to do?

Thanks

FYI...im not changing to a SS kit...just pulling off the shifter boot and Shift handle.

For the shifter, the base unclips by just pulling. For the ****, just pull straight up...pull really hard and try not denting your roof as it finally comes off. The new shifter will have a set screw as opposed to a pressure fitting.

For the ebrake, more complicated. If you ever thought of adding a short shifter, DO IT NOW.

Here are the instructions...

Thanks Dan....

Now you've got me thinking about a SS kit. Might as well since the main console will be out, etc. Hmmmm...have to go back and search the archives to see what's the best shifter out there <sigh>. Way too many discussions on SS kits.

In terms of the ebrake install, how long do you think it would take the somewhat mechanically inclined?

The write up seems pretty straight forward...however, after the nightmare that I had with the Rear DV clamps, do you have any additional tips?

The shifter will take you approximately 1 minute to install.

The ebrake will take you about an hour, taking your time. I would wrap both the old and new ebrake handles with saran wrap to prevent any damage from occuring while sliding the center console in and out. Very straight forward install.

Good luck!
