Quick Question about 2003 Stock Exhast Tips

I've seen the double-circle ones as well as the single ovular-shaped ones. Is one standard, while the other is an option, or is there something else I'm missing here?

Thanks

X98boardwell is infamous around these parts
Double tipped (one larger than the other) as long as it is factory and not an aftermarket unit then the car is equipped with the X50 package... different exhaust, larger turbos, intercoolers, etc. Single oval is stock as stated above.

I think you were misinformed.......The X-50 does not come standard with those dual barrel tips....Mine was a stock X-50 car from the factory with the single half oval one.....

Good to know... thanks. I always thought that was the visible difference when looking at one of these cars. I had no idea you could have the oval single tip and still have the X50.

Bryan

Dual tips were option X51. They are not related to the X50 package.

The X51 is aligned to the Non-Turbos and the X50 is aligned to the Turbos but of course, the X51 option were installed on Turbos as an X51 option.

Did you buy it new? If it came from the factory with dual tips you should see the X51 option code. Otherwise they may have been added at the dealer.

Factory option codes are also listed under the front hood and in the front of the manual.
