Speedtech Cross Flow Exhaust
Speedtech Cross Flow Exhaust
Who has a Speedtech exhaust on and for how long ? It seems as though the Cross-Flow design is gaining widespread acceptance across the industry as the way to go in terms of sound
I have the 2.5 system. I'm happy with it, it's not too loud, wife friendly, minimal to no drone.
They have several tip options now as well, I have the single tips, they were not my favorite initially, but they have grown on me.
I wouldn't hesitate to recommend the exhaust to someone else, support from Speedtech has been top notch.

Yes.
I had a 70mm 2 can, a 2.5' crossflow, and now a 3" crossflow and all have a good degree of drone, which seems unavoidable in a tip with a straight through muffler.

I have the 2.5 with 100 cell cats. NO real "in cabin drone", the deep exhaust note can be heard outside at any rpm below 2800, but not annoying like drone inside the car. Love the sound, look, the weight reduction and power.
100 Cell cats for me. I have had catless cars in the past, and do not care to have that again - just me.
I switched my Cargraphics 200 cell cats for Speed Techs 100 cats.I did feel it spooled a little quicker , had better throttle response and a slight power increase low mid range,,,But,,Did not gain much of anything,if I did, on the upper mid to top end RPM range...Everyone that talks about going catless, doesnt take in to consideration that.......It might not benefit the upper power/RPM band due to the fact that the rest of the muffler piping can not take advantage of all that flow..I have adressed this before and no one gives an answer??...So,your muffler piping is the next weak link....I am facing that now.Maybe with more of a stock turbo set up it may not be a issue as much OR a good designed after market exhaust system.....Just some info to help.......
Unfortunately, that seems universal with this transmission. And for the record since everyone rates resonance differently- I have a very high threshold for pain when it comes to exhausts. I have had 6 cars with aftermarket exhausts or straight pipes.

You will love it especially if you are doing catless.
