LA Porsche dismantlers any good?

I bought a starter and an alternator for my 996C2 a couple years ago..
I have to say the price was good (150 for the alternator, 100 for the starter), and parts seemed to be ok.
I took a hit on shipment and customs, but parts were heavy.
Overall a good experience. I guess they have good prices for common stuff and tend to charge a bit too much for the un-common parts.

I was sourcing a 993 hood about a month back and talked to LA Porsche Dismantlers, German Auto Dismantlers, and Einmalig Dismantlers.
Ended up going with Einmalig and was very happy with service, got air freight from HB, CA to Columbus, OH for $125 too. I'm not sure how they get freight at rates like that but I wouldn't complain!

Do a search on rennlist on them. Seems your better off if you can go there in person. Phone and internet orders are pretty risky. Buyer beware.

Call don't email
Have dealt with LADismantlers several time and find out that they usually give a better deal when you call and negotiate versus email. Also DC auto in North Carolin offers pretty good pricing. http://www.dcauto.com/

I was looking for a set of front axles and they had one. I told them that I would wait if they could locate a second one, and they would call me and update me on a biweekly basis. When they found one they called and I was out of town. I finally called them back 3 weeks later and they had them waiting for me to call to get them. They had left me a few messages. My experience with them was good and the prices were not to bad. I think that talking to them in person and telling them that you are willing to pay only so much will allow them to deal.

I bought a aerokit rear spoiler from my 03 tt, and it was as advertised. It was in good condition with small scratch which they told me about. It matched my seal gray car perfectly. I thought the price was reasonable as well.

I am gonna try DC auto for what I am looking for. I think that if a salvage yard is gonna quote a price close to what I can buy a new product for, I am not gonna waste time trying to bargain. I will try them again on another product and see how they do then.

I tried to find the connecting fasteners for the rear wing and called all the dismantlers in the country. None would sell me just the fasteners, all would sell me the entire wing for the same price I could buy new from Suncoast.
