Do I need to upgrade my suspension?
SubscribeI am having a problem with bottoming out with my TT. My car is lowered and I am a big guy so when I am driving at speed and hit a dip or bump my car seems to bottom out in the back...meaning my fenders rub the tires. Is there a way I cant prevent this from happening with stiffer springs or shocks?
I'm assuming you have lowering springs on stock shocks? Are you using stock wheels or are they aftermarket and wider?
Depending on how low the car is and what your wheel setup is simply rolling the fenders to give the tires more room to move up into the fenders could help.

Your tires should not rub your fenders even at full compression if your car was properly lowered and you're running the proper wheel/tire combination. What was installed to lower the car? Are the tires rubbing the fender lips or the fender liners? Jack the car up and look for shinny spots which will indicate were the rubbing is occuring. Stiffer shocks and springs will mask the problem but may not be the correct solution.Originally Posted by turbomusclz

I am not sure what was used to lower the car. I bought it already done. The car also is running 18" techart rims with the correct width tire. I am pretty sure wheel spacers have been installed since the tires are flush with the fenders.
It seems to be rubbing the lip of the fenders. Somebody else had mentioned rolling the fenders but I was wondering if there was another solution.

Unless you have a broken spring, or poorly setup coilovers this is most likely a offset / tire size issue on the wheels. I do not get any rubbing with 315's@GT2 height. Take it to a good shop, and pull the rears off, and see what is up.

The rear fenders are rolled at the factory. You can only roll the fronts. Get rid of the wheel spacers, make sure you also replace the lug bolts with stock length ones.Originally Posted by turbomusclz
