Nice tool for brake pad changes

My track buddy gave me this tool as a Christmas gift. I finally got around to using it today, as I was prepping my car for the track. He got it at a place called "Traqjunk" -- no affiliation.

The first pic shows the tool, along with a 3/8" drive soccket wrench for scale. Second shows the hooks inserted in the holes in the brake pad spring. Third shows the ends squeezed together, with a little clip to hold them that way. This removes the tension from the retaining pin, and it's easily tapped out and re-inserted.

Very cool, at least I think so.

Jon

Nice tool. its that third hand I always wanted. Does the tool stay with the spring plate? If so you can keep that nasty never-sez off your hands.

Yes, it stays with the spring plate. The little clip that you see up near the eyes in the third frame holds it all together.
