agreed the cf grille looks great! noticed you have gt2RS intercoolers...is that from the new 997 gt2RS...? do those require any modificaitons to install or are they a pure bolt on? how much better are they (in terms of flow and cooling) than your 996 GT2 factory units?

The IC's are from the new 997RS. Installation took about 8 professional installation hours. They fit right in, but the Ducts took 90% of the labor time. We did similar duct fabrication as illustrated on a previous post.
The CF hood was a one-off, weave over a thin fiberglass frame. We spend weeks on that one. You can find similar hoods listed in the for sale thread.

My friend put a carbon fiber hood and doors on his 996 GT2 for a 5 day race, and they barely held together long enough to finish before the hood and the driver's door started to delaminate. The doors were high-end too, not entry level. It kind of made me weary of carbon fiber, considering it's expense. I do LOVE the look though. On the other end of the spectrum, I saw the underside of the hood on the 2011 GT2RS and it is built like a brick ****house!! There is no way that thing is coming apart, short of a crash.

How much did it cost to make that hood of yours, if you don't mind me asking? It looks great!

That CF hood was a pure project of passion, done in my shop. If I would add all the time and materials spent, ... getting noxious already. If you like the look, buy one for a few hundred dollars and have it professionally refined to meet your needs.

On a bit of a side note; aren't 6-3 doors aluminium? Couldn't they be switched over to the 6-2`s?

Vents and hood are sick, btw!

Unterbergamotte? You and a friend laid that CF hood !!yourselves!! in your garage?

It is a great thread! Great mod, too btw! If you have the skills to tackle! It looks pretty easy, IMHO. 997.2 Intercoolers - Wow!
