New wheels for a Seal Grey TT?
New wheels for a Seal Grey TT?
Been considering picking up a 997 turbo this past week, but I have only owned my 996 turbo for about 2 months so would rather keep it a bit longer instead (impulse purchase when i saw the 996 or else I would have got a 997 to begin lol).
Now I absolutely love it, but I just wish the wheels would be a bit more exciting, Seal Grey is a smart colour but not so exciting either, so I want some alloys which make the whole car stand out a little bit, any suggestions or pics to give me some ideas? Thanks.

You can always go with 997 turbo wheels. I love the look and most people that don't know the styling diff between 997 and 996 believe my car is "new"--it is only 10 years old---
If I had and extra $5k for wheels I would go with the gunmetal GMG WC-GT 19"

or the Forgeline Viper 19" in gunmetal

Strange coincidence- there is a thread 10 below this one with pictures of a bunch of different wheels on a Seal Grey TT in all different colors.
Start there- there are some nice options

Classic and conservative, a silver matte, or polished wheel or possibly one with a pilished outer rim lip.
Cutting edge, bad boy attitude, all black, gloss looks clean when it is. Semi gloss and matte more attitude, trendy

Like the alloys on that 997, hard to visualise on the 996 though!
Just saw that funnily enough, not quite convinced by any yet though.
Here is a pic of a Seal Grey with '07 wheels. This is the photo that convinced me on the 997's.
The 2nd is of mine--crappy photo--I also switched to colored crests since. Don't know what it is about my camera, but the colors is jacked... the color is closer to the first photo in person.
BTW--mine is dropped about 1" in front on PSS9's w/ Mode Camber Plates. I didn't like the factory rear rake bias and I had blown tower soft mounts. Put new rubber on recently and had PSM issues. Found that it took some tweaking of air pressure in the front (37 PSI cold) and stiffing the PSS9's settings (f 4 / r 3) a bit and everything is swell now. Just had her out on the back twisties... addicting!

Can't get the pic to move over, but the address works fine so give it a try...
Here is a pic of my highly modded car under the "Just bought a 996 tt" thread. I went a lot overboard on the mods but really like the HRE's on it

Thanks-- I went with a carbon fiber duct splitter. I used black exterior caulk to seam the splitter into the duct and it looks OEM to me. Get a lot of compliments. Some may say that is "ricey" or "poserish" I don't care... I like it.
Thanks for all the pics, you guys have really nice 911s!
After spending more time looking around today I think I am going to get the car wrapped to something a bit more exciting, i like the grey but want it to stand out more so going to get it in matte black i'm thinking (not sure if there is anyone with this done to see how it looks?). Will pick the wheels after that is done so I make sure they work.
I saw this and really like it other than the pink, but it seems near impossible to find the techart skirts, spoiler, rear spats and aerokit front splitter, do you guys know any good sites for these parts?

A really really nice car!! .....though I still think it would look even better matte black
But you are right, definitely not boring!!
Haha thanks... matte black looks cool for about 37 seconds until you see it next to other cars that are glistening from perfect paint, and wax... I wouldn't go that route unless your a metal militia type guy, these cars show their curves when the paint is nice and nothing looks better. These are D2 Forged VS1 wheels. Thanks again for the compliment
My car with silver Champion RS98's, seal gray car in the background with Champion RS171. very similar wheels only the RS98 is a dish wheel and the 171 is a face wheel

And a few more of the RS98 (sorry, it's arctic silver, but will look even better on seal gray due to the contrast)
