No rubbing or fitment issues.
For the guys that want to run a 12, those are usually the specs we recommend!

Most people seem to run either.....

an 11" rear with ET33
or a 12" rear with ET44

These specs are very similar regarding outer arch clearance
The 12" wheel would have 2mm less clearance than the 11" wheel

My 11" wheels are ET25
They have 6mm less clearance than the 12" wheels with ET44
and 8mm less clearance than the 11" wheels with ET33

My wheels have a very aggressive fitment

It should give you more lateral grip and maintain the stock handling balance better.

235's seem narrow on a 3,500lb. car.

I assume it either won't fit or most wheels are only available in 8.5" widths and offsets for 235's.

Most times the heights don't correspond. And also cramming big tires outside of the sweet spot for the tire only leads to more sidewall deflection and bigger tires equal more weight. Many times that's where people are finding the traction (with more unsprung weight bogging the car down). The 996 TT is quite soft as is with all the rubber in the suspension. Adding more deflection with taller sidewalls won't improve response.

If it would fit, a 265/35 is really close to a 315/30 in diamter.

I think I could get a 265 to fit

Might take some time to figure out the specs, but I reckon it's doable

The width of my fronts are 9"... offsets I really don't know, it is whatever forgestar recommended. I was nervous to open my mouth about offsets because of my Brembos, wanted to make sure the wheels cleared.

What size Brembos are you running up front?

I just recently picked up a set of Fikses in 18x9 ET33 and 18x12 ET25 with hopes that they would fit over my new Brembo 380mm kit. Long story short, they didn't. So I ended up swapping the wheel centers front to rear and now think I should have plenty of room but will see this weekend. I also need to measure the backspacing so I can figure out what offset I'm now running - all I have to say is the front is about as flush as possible now - looks like a cup car!

I was originally running 225 / 295 with ET33 and ET25 offsets and was completely fine as far as fitment goes. I tried mounting up a set of 235 / 315 Nitto NT01s with these offsets as well and there was no way that the 315 would work in the rear - BTW, I am at GT2 ride height and have some decent negative camber but don't recall the specs off the top of my head. After switching the centers around though the NT01s fit with no problem. I am rolled in the rear as well.

Attached are a couple of pics before I swapped the centers. These are the only ones that I have before making the swap - wish I would have taken some better ones!

I am looking into getting a set of wheels for my C4S. I would assume the specs are the same as the Turbos. That being said, I am on a debate to go with 18" or 19". I see a lot of you guys running on 18" and I'd like to know why. Is there any reason to go to 19" other then for the looks?

Yes, sizes and offsets will be the same for the C4S. The two key benefits of 18s, in my mind, are better tire selection and lower weight. If you are going to run your car on the track then I would suggest 18s all the way. If you are just going for looks and like the look of the 19s then go that route.

so for a 12" rear the recommended offset is a +44 (almost identical to the stock GT2 which is +45)
What offset would you go with for a 9" front?
I've seen Bucky Lasek's HRE R40's and he went with a +50 for the front 9" wheels. (and +45 for the rear 12")

Sounds like your having some wheel fun

You should get commission from Fikse cause you just sold me on the FM5's been having a tough time deciding between those and another set of wheels but those look really sick on your car.

I'm on 12x18 with 45 offset. + I use 7mm spacer rear.
No outside rub w 315 wheel normal driving but for track I prefer to roll the fenders.

Fully sprung out (like on a lift) I still have tire rubbing on the inside (corner where intercooler is close). Exactly the same on previous car with same wheel setup. In other words: No jumping with the car.

If I'd custom order an 18" wheel, I'd do 12x18 with ET38 rear.
Or go ET45 and use 7mm spacer.
