Tiff Nedell Racing a 997tt
not sure if its been posted on here, but this was on our 5th Gear Car TV show. It was also posted on PH.
i have watched it over and over again. Standard car, no super Geo set ups or racing gizmo's . Just a road car on the track.
Enjoy.

Me Too! I miss the program fifth gear. Top gear always has a butt load of grap you have to watch to see the car stuff.

Tiff is an amazing driver - he saw toothed the wheel on corner entry to find the level of grip in the front tires between understeer and intial turn in. What I am wondering is why he was saw toothed on the flat straight sections of track..perhaps adjusting for slip angle if the rear tires would attempt to power on oversteer under very hard acceleration...
Its sort of like an honest view of a 911 997tt racing, sort of what we all could experience with our standard cars
Its this very fact that impressed me. Were all used to our 911's being fitted out with trick suspension and Geo etc, but this is a completely standard road car, and that's what happens to a standard car when its on the edge. IMO its good because it represents a good real world representation and you can almost feel every bit of effort Tiff has to put into the car.

Also, his line is a bit suspect IMO...
Still the passes were obviously staged so they could get both cars in the video and make it look good, which it really did. Especially compared to Best Motoring's pro drivers passing other pro's on the outside of every turn, those races are
.Also the track looks REALLY bumpy which might explain why Tiff was over the top with the sawing at the wheel. And maybe that's just his style, I'm sure the car could be driven as fast without all of the wheel motion though.
The Turbo was under steering. Sawing is usually helpful in getting the car turned when it's pushing. Notice when Tiff almost pushes off the track, he adds more steering input, but the car doesn't turn. Seems like Porsche dialed in a lot of under steer on the car. To alleviate the understeer, you straight the wheel to reset grip and then turn in again as opposed to adding more steering input like Tiff did when he almost pushed off the track and the GT-R up-and-undered him.
