Yes you can. Those codes are related to the secondary air injection system and it can be due to a leak in the vacuum lines on top of the engine....Function: inject fresh air in the catalytic converter for emission control on cold start. Did you hear the air pump starting on cold start. This pump is located in the engine compartment , right front corner....

Hey, did you replace the diverter valves yet? If they haven't been replaced do those and see if the code goes away. Those have been known to cause those codes.

And if you have aftermarket DV's, check to make sure the tops have not come loose. One of my tops was loose and I got those CEL's. Tightened it up and the CEL went away.

Jpflip. Thanks for always responding quickly to my posts. It is really appreciated!!
I'm not sure what the pump sounds like as my car is very loud at start up (Tubi Exhaust)

Vagscum I checked them with my mighty vac after we met some mos ago. at that time, they held vacuum for 10 min each, but I guess its time to retest

I guess its time to upgrade my dv as they are stock and should eliminate that concern. I used my buddies Durametric to clear the codes and drove about 20 miles and so far nothing yet.

Thanks for all the advise

Sometimes it takes 5 or 6 engine on/off cycles for a CEL to return after clearing codes if the problem is still there.

Welcome. It is always a pleasure to help you if I can! Of course I agree with Landjet and VAGscum it can also be the diverter valves....
