new to the 996tt crowd :)
new to the 996tt crowd :)
Hey guys, I have been lurking around the 996tt forum since I got my first Porsche. At that time I was a bit afraid of getting an older car so I went with a cayman s

Then last December I had an accident and totaled it
Well since then I had been looking around for a new car, the 996 always on the back of my mind but still afraid.
I started checking out the classifieds just to see what would come up.. One day I saw a car I really liked but on the west coast, the car had been for sale for a while so I was a bit afraid.. 2 months later after looking at the pics of the car every day I decided to contact the owner. Well I decided u only live once so go for it, took a plane and just went to get it
Some of you probably know the car and I am surprised it had not sold, it's in great condition, pulls super hard and overall a great car
Here it it is the first time I saw it
We took it to the transport company the next day and finally got to nj

I drove it this weekend and did a few pulls and it is super strong, I do need a larger MAF and a new tune for it, when I built boost on 5th or 6th gear the oem maf throws codes but that will be solved soon

What kind of boost numbers are you seeing? Sound like you may have a leak if you are getting MAF codes... the stock MAF goes to a pretty huge HP level
The car used to belong to Adam tkdalumni here on the forum, he took really good care of the car and for what me and my mechanic have seen he used some really good parts on the car, he had a sg 650 kit on it but upgraded The turbos hence the need for better tuning. Here are some of the mods, I am sure there are many more
GT28 turbos
Innovative pro design Intake plenum w/ 76mm throttle body
FVD Intake piping
MaShaw GT2 Front Bumper
New GT2 clutch
MaShaw GT2
Cargraphic Loud/Export Stainless Exhaust
B&M ssk
GIAC ECU Upgrade
Cross 15 way adjustable Coilover Suspension
2003 & up Spark Plugs
Custom Billet Diverter Valves

I tend to spend too much money on mods so getting something already modded should keep me from doing to much lol
I will have pics and a nice video of it in action soon

Congrats! Give us a review/comparison... Believe it or not, I've been thinking of picking up a Cayman S to cruise around in. Needed to pull some cash out of my 996TT and want something NA and simple and keep coming back to Porsche...
thank you guys, I am happy with the car and that is what counts.. I love this damn thing even though it will probably keep me broke hahah
as for comparing it to the cayman, they are 2 completely different animals, the turbo is just raw power and like friend says boost is just addicting. The cayman is a great car though, the handeling is amazing I think with a bit more power it would be the perfect pcar. I am taking my car for a nice long twisty drive this weekend and I will do a better comparison of the 3 cars.. but the only thing I have driven that compares to the cayman in handeling is a slammed miata (here is mine next with it's stable mate
