I have seen, flat steel 1/2" reinforcements, and tubular steel reinforcements 2" I believe.. It raises the lift by according amounts. My lifts are asymetrical , the CGT issue would apply to either lift. Your GT2 would be O.K. on either, I, once used to it, like the asymetrical. Finding center on it requires little practice as well.

You could cut out a pad, reinforce with rebar, and go 6 to 8 inches deep.
Rotary supplies installation instructions, you should consult them. Jobbers Equipment in Miami was my go to guys.

I love my Max Jax so far. My concrete was far from perfect. It's old and had a bunch of cracks. It was 4"+ deep and so far its as solid as it gets.
