1st post silly question
hello all. i am new here and would like to say hello. i come from ferrarichat because i sold my ferrari and bought a 2002 996tt less then a week ago.
i am loving the car. its just exciting to drive.
i sold the ferrari just because i was tired of crazy maintenance costs and i wanted a driver not a garage queen.
my question for now is where is the a/c condenser. reason for the question is i had a puddle of water under the front right wheel area today when i pulled it out of the garage. i smelled it and i was for sure just water.
thanks in advance

I assume you have checked all vital fluid levels and they are ok and you are keeping a watch on them? The car is new (to you anyway) and while I'm sure nothing is wrong, things can wrong at any time. With a new car, a new used car, even just a car you've owned for a while, you want to still keep an eye on vital fluid levels and develop a base line for their consumption so you have an early warning should something start to go wrong.
BTW, one thing you can do is before you reach your final destination turn off the A/C and let the cabin vent fan run and this dries out the A/C evaporator and the moisture in the ducts. In some areas if this isn't done the system can develop a smell that comes from mold/mildew taking root (so to speak) on the evaporator and surrounding surfaces.
Be sure the cabin filter is kept fresh. In some areas they can develop a bit of a sour smell that can only be removed by replacing the filter. The one in my Boxster just developed such a smell and I replaced it. And the thing wasn't that dirty either, but I ran with the vent running all the time so the filter filters a lot of air.
Sincerely,
Macster.
