Anybody change their control arms or bushing due to wear?

If so, what mileage? Which bushings or control arms? I am at 68k and am thinking replacing my bushings may refresh the suspension, but would like to know what everyone else here has been through. Also what about sway bar bushings?

From my experience the bushings are pretty bullet proof up front but in th rear you will actually notice a tighter feel replacing after 7-8 years of 50-60k miles. They get pretty hot and worked especially on the track. With customer cars we would sometimes do a trouble side bushing or arm at a time and I have seen them changed often. On my 03 TT with 50k miles on it I notices trying to align it. The alignment was not quite dialing in but after new control and track arms in the rear it was perfect. Then I noticed the tighter feel. The sway bar bushings are usually good for a visual inspection. See if they still have their shape or have pushed out at all. Alignment will be the best way to tell though as the parts are not cheap and of course all can be replaced with stock or factory GT upgrades.

Thanks for the info, I'm on ~59k with my 01' and looking for a plan of attack too. I'm guessing the GT2 control arms would be the first upgrade besides sway bar and links?

ogomez79 is infamous around these parts
I have been meaning to upgrade to new dog bones in the rear and busings in the lower control arms, but I'm weary of having heim joints that can wear out. I can tell you that on my car with ~60k miles I was beginning to have problems with alignment like SamboTT mentioned above. I swapped out one side last summer and it was back to factory specs, not trying to decide what to do about the other side.

Whatever you do don't get the one's made by "Hamburg Technic". The closest these part's have ever been to Germany is India. The price is appealing but in their case you get what you pay for.
