I just recently purchased a 2002 996TT with a PCM 1 head unit but it came with no NAV CD’s. Can anyone tell me if a 2001-1 series CD (part number S0006-0113-102) should work with my system or must it be a 2002-1 series CD?

The 2001 won't work with anything. Porsche and the Nav manufacturer had a disagreement and went their separate ways. After 2001 it was impossible to get Nav updates for the 2001 system, so I'll take a wild guess and say - no way. The 2002 system was a different Nav manufacturer.

 

I thought the 2001's and 2002's both used the PCM1 head unit with Navteq CD's? One might be 8 bit and the other 16 bit hence my compatibility question.
